PARIS - Corto Moltedo (www.corto.com) is set to open its first flagship boutique in the Jardins du Palais Royal. Located in the historic heart of Paris, the boutique, designed by Gabrielecorto Moltedo, is a synergy between fashion and art aesthetics that will offer an unprecedented level of service.
The boutique will feature treasures for women and men alike, including an installation from renowned Colombian artist Federico Uribe (www.federicouribe.com).
Gabrielecorto Moltedo chose the Palais Royal as the location of his first boutique be- cause it holds a special place for him. As a student studying in Paris, he would often walk through the gardens and fell under the charm and elegance of the area, vowing one day to open his first boutique here.
The space, approximately 65 square metres, is a study of where luxury objects are sold.
The interior will feature custom made crated casings adorned with leather handles, walls enclosed in recycled wood and the Corto Signature blue and white stripes. The use of everyday materials to create a luxurious setting is at the core of the Corto Moltedo boutique. This led to Moltedo’s decision to feature two installations by Federico Uribe, “The School” and “Por si las moscas” to inaugurate the opening.
Uribe’s work embraces the use of common materials in contemporary art, creating beautiful objects and installations. This will be the first of several installation pieces in the boutique. The combination of architectural / art / fashion detailing creates a sophisticated and elegant atmosphere, keeping in perfect harmony with the spirit of the collections.
The flagship boutique offers over 60 different styles of handbag’s and small leather goods, in addition to custom made to order pieces (bespoke services), seen on clients such as Madonna and Naomi Campbell.
