I am an electronic writer and artist, currently Digital Writer in Residence at the Institute of Creative Technologies ( www.ioct.dmu.ac.uk ) in De Montfort University, Leicester, UK, funded by The Arts Council England. The IOCT fosters creative research and collaboration across art and design, music, humanities, computer science and engineering, and encourages transdisciplinary collaboration between individuals and organisations at local, national and international levels.
Flight Paths ( www.flightpaths.net ) is a work of digital fiction created with the writer Kate Pullinger, a ‘networked book’, created on and through the internet. The first stage of the project opens up the research process to the world, inviting contributions of text, images, sound and multimedia.
The PART group at De Montfort University (
www.transliteracy.com ) are investigating transliteracy, the ability to read, write and interact across a range of platforms, tools and media from signing and orality through handwriting, print, TV, radio and film, to digital social networks.
