About Diana

Diana Jenkins, businesswoman and philanthropist, is a name synonymous with global justice. After living through the atrocities of the Bosnian war, she has made it her lifetime calling to dedicate her hard-earned resources to the monitoring of human rights violations around the world.  In so doing, she donated $4 million for the establishment of a clinic to aid courts in bringing war criminals to trial. Causes The clinic, The Sanela Diana Jenkins Clinic on International Justice, is connected to the UCLA School of Law through the school’s International Human Rights Program. The work of the clinic will involve both students and their teachers in tracking down and bringing to public attention cases of war crimes around the world. Due to Diana Jenkins’ background in Bosnia, the clinic will begin its work with crimes committed during that war. Through working with the attorneys associated with the War Crimes Section of the State Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, the students plan to publicize the war crimes and work through the process of bringing the perpetrators to trial. The work of the clinic involves three main aspects that will lead up to prosecution of war criminals. The first one is legal advocacy, in which the students will work through local and international courts to streamline the process of bringing war criminals to trial. Secondly, the students will look for ways to work together with local and international politicians to implement the legal processes required in prosecuting the criminals. But the third point, documentation, is what gets the ball rolling. Fieldwork, documenting eye witness accounts and looking for forensic evidence will all be supplemented by audio-visual documentation. Current Residence Diana Jenkins and her banker life partner, Roger Jenkins, live in California with their two young children.
