Welcome

Welcome to the Scottish Higher Education Employability Network's (SHEEN) site for employability resources on the web. The information on this site is primarily aimed at individuals who are interested in or have a responsibility to address employability in the curriculum and co-curriculum.

The site was built using the free Web tool Netvibes, which pulls in and displays live feeds of news, resources and searches from other places. If you are not familiar with Netvibes, feel free to have a play: you won't break anything! Or, scroll down this page to find some video clips showing you how to navigate and use the site. You will also see some clips on using Diigo to contribute resources to this site.

The site pulls in a range of content relating to employability in higher education, including dynamically updated information from social media sites, e.g.:
  * popular pages bookmarked by many different people on Delicious and Diigo;
  * freely available videos from YouTube;
  * the latest links and opinion from Twitter;
  * ... and all sorts of up-to-date publications via blogs, repositories and more formal Web sites.

Information has been organised under relevant tab headings. In each tab you will discover:
  * a range of continuously updated materials from across the web, and
  * resources recommended by the Scottish Employability Coordinators' Network.

If you would like to get in touch about any of the information here or to find out more please email netvibesecn@googlemail.com

About this site

This site is a public Netvibes page developed by the SHEEN Employability Co-ordinators' Network (ECN) in Scotland. The ECN is not a formally constituted body or organisation. It is a group of people who support employability in Scottish higher education. ECN members are in posts funded by the Scottish Funding Council (SFC) through SHEEN (Scottish Higher Education Employability Network). These posts are temporary but we hope that this resource will live on and continue to be supported by those with a stake in this work. Where information is pulled into this site via feeds and widgets from external Web resources (e.g. Twitter, YouTube, Delicious, Diigo, EvidenceNet, etc.) then intellectual property rights for that information are those defined on the originating site. Information pulled in from external sites is not subject to editorial control by the ECN, and neither the ECN, nor the HEA or SFC are responsible for its validity or accuracy. This email address is monitored by group members on a voluntary basis; we will endeavour to get back to you within a week of your enquiry. Alternatively, you may like to look at the video above about how to contribute resources to these pages by sharing and tagging them using Diigo.
