welcome to the innovation space, which could have been entitled "innovation that matters" but for now will be "innovation in public services", this is an experiment in bringing together the conversations & thoughts on innovation in public services. more importantly, it's finding ways to connect people who are doing the thinking & talking with those who are want to get involved in the discussions & activities around this area.
why did I divide up the tabs? am I implying that the people doing the thinking are not engaging in the conversations who are not blogging? I wanted to make the tabs easy to use and not too cluttered with information as well as being able to highlight different people & groups.
when you click on "the community" you will find a page asking you for your login and password. if you haven't registered, do and so and you will be asked to apply to join. obviously, please read the terms & conditions that come with registering.

if you think that we should divide up the tabs differently, or if you have a feed you would like me to add (or take away!), then please let me know by either emailing me on noel.hatch1@gmail.com or post on the community of practice for innovation here http://www.communities.idea.gov.uk/c/14693/home.do.
i have added innovation in public services and social innovation, not because the two are necessarily different things, but because an organisation in canada already uses socialinnovation as a tag. what better tag could we use?
if you know of a way that we can collectively add and edit this space, then please let me know too
p.s. has anyone got a good picture that captures "innovation in public services"?!

The great thing about this space, is that we don't need to get people to write what they've said elsewhere in one space, we can just pick up the discussions as and when they happen, so I'd like to say thank you to all of you who are contributing to this space wherever you are (and probably unknowingly!).
Thanks are also due to the people that inspired me to create this space, there are many along the journey of working out what innovation in public services might mean, but the
first cheer goes to dave briggs who was the pioneer in setting up these type of spaces (go to davepress.net and you too can be a social media hero by borrowing his "how tos") and simon berry who captured the essence of how we should be reaching out to where people are already are
second cheer goes to nesta and everyone that was at the game changer workshop yesterday, which was about enthusiasts stepping out of their sectors & institutions and working out what innovation matters for real people and how we can do this...together
third cheer goes to everyone who's interested or involved, whether thinking up the ideas, working out the policy, supporting groups or individuals, basically the people who make it happen and you're the people that matter
