Issues of the equation editor -
- Private wiki pages - Hack the permissions (available on the front end) might be an option for the the just in time teaching
- look at a better html editor to plug in as a cartridge - Longsight job...
WebCT Converters group on http://collab.sakaiproject.org

- to ask people what they are having trouble with..

Back door to get the webdav from the drop box..
Goal was to create a graphical multi author simile timeline
-features of the tool is instructor control
-form submissions
-picture upload
-improved display
-Anonymous print view
-sortable list view of time
-security of Sakai authentication
Timeline was brought into the classroom through a foam board
- viewable by other classes
- students outside of course posted relevant info to the physical timeline
My Questions:
When you are done is this something that will be offered to the community - Release in August to those who want to use it.
Is this something that only works in Sakai? Only sakai at this point but might have future with Moodle or other...
What was the reaction to the addition from the outsiders?
Action steps -
Bring this to Longsight
- using project sites to encourage investigation of the tools outside of the course.
- courses on the My Workspace to teach students how to customize their my workspace to make their work in sakai even easier
- writing comments on readings shapes lectures
Mt Holyoke
- is using a project site to manage the project of maintaining Sakai.
- used my workspace to be the introduction into sakai from webct
- issue of keeping courses
- student think of previous courses in much the same way as text books - historical resources
- encourage faculty to take advantage of the unpublish option
Whitman
- faculty don't want students to have access to prior courses as they don't want students to copy and paste.
- interest in sharing exceptional courses or exceptional pieces of a course
Allegheny
- looking for an equation editor that the physics faculty will like jsmath for the wiki mathematica export as tec
