Just who is Stuart?
I am a teacher on the Gold Coast. I began my career, whilst at uni, as a systems technician, fixing computers and setting up labs at Palm Beach State School. After I graduated I took up technology teaching and then, in a strange link taught LOTE at 3 schools (via audio cassette learning on route!) I accepted a position with my wife in Dirranbandi SS teaching senior school, with a focus on ICT's.
Whilst in Dirranbandi I joined the Fire and Rescue Service where I trained and became a fully qualified Fire fighter, and very nearly left teaching permanently, until I was offered to teach at Worongary State School.
I have @ Worongary since 2005 and just love it here. During this time my family has expanded, enjoyed playing AFL at the Robina Roos and living the coastal life, surfing and golfing regularly.
I have mainly taught year 7, of which I thoroughly enjoy. I was lucky enough to be offered an opportunity to assist in the roll out of OneSchool at Worongary that has been an exciting addition to my rolls here. This led to a position of district liaison officer for the Southcoast, supporting all of the schools in the region and some help desk support.
Now settling back into life at Worongary I have been awakened to mobile learning and living, working and teaching in the cloud - thanks to Shane Roberts, mobile teaching leader from Palm Beach-Currumbin SHS and my teaching partner Robert Oakley. I am enjoying everything I do here and couldn't be happier at one of the best schools on the Gold Coast. Have a look around my Cloud, learn using & learn from it because Learning is no more only done at a desk inside a classroom, Learning can now be done Anywhere & Anytime.
