Steven is an eLearning and IT manager at King's College London and a Fellow of the Centre for Distance Education at the University of London where he chairs the research strategy group. He is currently working on a number of research projects that include: a study of social software in distance education settings; pattern languages for Web2.0; designing for learning with Multi-User Virtual Environments (MUVEs) in education; eAssessment and integrating social software to tighten feedback loops; and as part of the EMERGE project team supporting a UK wide community of practice in user innovation in the area of emerging technologies. His research interests include questioning the meaning of identity in online learning, the impact of shifting relations in the dimensions of space and time in MUVEs (such as Second Life), social presence, social networks, and the changing nature of change.
Margarita is a researcher in education science, working with MENON Network EEIG in Brussels, Belgium. She has been working in the field of education for 15 years in all levels from primary through secondary to higher education. She has coordinated several projects on digital identity and reputation, user-centric implementation of Europass ePortfolio, online job search user behaviour, social directories, social technologies in education and ePortfolios. She also works in the field of learning difficulties, in particular school performance and early school leaving. She coordinates MUVEnation : an European programme for training teachers in the use of virtual worlds for education. And she also participates in two other research projects about MUVEs and education: OpenHabitat and LLL3D. Her current research interests are the collection and analysis of teaching experiences in virtual worlds through narrative inquiry.
Graham Attwell is Director of Pontydysgu, an Educational Research and Software Development Company based in Wales. He is an Associate Fellow of the Institute for Employment Research, University of Warwick and a Visiting Fellow at the University of Bremen. His research interests are focused on technology enhanced teaching and learning and web-based learning environment development. This includes research and development into pedagogies for Technology Enhanced Learning, recognition of informal learning, training of teachers and trainers and development of open source software for education. His recent work has focused on research and development of new applications and approaches to e-Portfolios and Personal Learning Environments and use of social software for learning and knowledge development. He is experienced in the use of ICT for e-Learning, developing, delivering and moderating e-learning programmes for teachers and trainers.
