About the Scottish Government's RSS Newsfeeds Library

Welcome to the Scottish Government's RSS Newsfeeds Library, designed to help you keep up to date across all Scottish Government topic areas.

News feeds (or RSS feeds) allow you to see when websites have added new content giving you the latest headlines as soon as they are published, without having to spend time visiting each website.

Each page contains the latest news, via RSS, from relevant news sources, journals, organisations, blogs and other sources.

Subscribe to daily email updates

At the top of each page you'll find a 'Click here to sign up for daily emails' link.  This will allow you to receive details of new content via a daily email instead of having to browse our pages.

Browsing, RSS and sharing

If you prefer to regularly browse our Netvibes pages for new content instead of receiving a daily email, then simply bookmark any of our Netvibes pages.

At the top of each page you'll find options to bookmark and to receive new content by RSS which you can add to your feed reader.  For example, the MySaltire RSS widgets (Scottish Government staff only) or Google Reader.

Our newsfeeds service is a publicly accessible start page created using Netvibes.  You can add our newsfeeds to your own iGoogle or Netvibes pages by clicking the "Share" link in the upper right of each newsfeed.

Accessing CSA Illumina or EBSCOhost abstracts

Passwords are required to view abstracts for articles from CSA Illumina or EBSCOhost.  Scottish Government staff can access the CSA Illumina and EBSCOhost passwords at http://intranet/InExec/Library/Need/Journals, or from the Library on 44556 or email LIBRARY at sglibrary@scotland.gsi.gov.uk.

Accessing full text articles

The full text of any journal articles shown can be requested from the Library.  They may also be available online to Scottish Government staff via EBSCOhost, IDOX or the Knowledge Network (formerly the NHSScotland eLibrary):
