Web 2.0

" Web 2.0 is all about harnessing collective intelligence." O'Reilly and Battelle, 2009

O'Reilly and the origins of Web 2.0

Tim O'Reilly is generally referred to as the person who first defined Web 2.0. In October 2009 there was an update from him.

Web 2.0 training

One frequent way of learning is the "23 things" approach: people learn about a new type of Web 2.0 application every week, and have to do a small task and reflect on it. This is seen as a useful approach in the workplace. Below is an example of a "23 things" type initiative which was undertaken in 2008 at Imperial College, London and a link to a "12 things" online course for school librarians in the USA. Then there is a "Beyond 20 things" powerpoint and handout: it describes how librarians shared their projects using Web 2.0 (so, "beyond" training into practice)
